Gas, Brake, Dip?

Pedal Box is now done along with some other odds and ends. The exhaust took a while to finish due to the space restrictions. The front grille was also a bit of a challenge due the compound curve that wrapped around the front end. All in all i think it turned out pretty well.

Trans Tunnel, roll Bar, and Seats

Made alot of progress on reconstructing the trans tunnel, welding in a roll bar, and mounting the seats. the seat mounting proved to be more work than i thought since kirkey recommends that you anchor the seats in six locations. i also completely alot of miscelanous tasks: fabricating adjustable tow links, building a new front cross member, building a new diff mount, raising the diff up 2" for better dshaft angle, and new front tie rods. Also i think i have decided on a paint scheme. i think im going to paint the front bumpers, rear bumpers, and fender flares black then the base color will be a dark metallic grey and there will be around a 12" wide vertical strip on each front fender behind the wheel with the bmw m racing colors it will look something like this photo of the ALMS Z4

Back on Track

Alot has happened in the past couple of months. first i ran into a huge setback in terms of the driveshaft. i thought that there wasnt going to be a huge constraint on the height of the engine. unfortunately this was wrong and i wasnt able to align the tail of the transmission to the differential flange. this is forcing me to use a conventional shaft with universal joints. i ended up wasting alot of time machining the components for the shaft, but i guess lesson learned. anyway i think i am back on track. i have made alot of progress: the engine is mounted with sliding engine mounts to get the engine really far back, i fabricated a new cross member to clear the engine, new rear shifter bushing, new transmission mount structure, new transmission cross member, and i am reconstructing the trans tunnel since the old one didnt fit.
